Agartala, Dec 20 (PTI): Neighbour Bangladesh would like to follow the water supply and sanitation model of Tripura in its Chittagong Hill Tracts (CHT) which has a topographical similarity with the State, a senior official said.
"Bangladesh made a great achievement by supplying water by using tube wells and could assure drinking water to 97 per cent of the population in the plain areas. We are considering to follow water supply and sanitation model of Tripura for CHT which has similarity with Tripura," Joint Secretary of Bangladesh Local Government Zuena Aziz told reporters.
"The government was also able to establish road connectivity in remote and hilly parts and as a result, at least water tankers can reach villagers," she said.
