AIZAWL, Oct 4 - Bangladesh Minister of State for Water Resourses Muhammad Nazrul Islam arrived in Aizawl today to attend a two-day international seminar on �Mizoram, Gateway to South East Asia? What needs to be done?�
He was received by Mizoram Parliamentary Secretary for Commerce and Industries Joseph Lalhimpuia at the airport.
The seminar, to be held at Mizoram University auditorium, is being organised by CENERS-K and Mizoram University, supported by the Mizoram government, Confederation of Indian Industry and Numalgarh Refinery Ltd.
The aim of this international seminar is to examine the feasibility of Mizoram becoming the gateway to SE Asia and to recommend what needs to be done for this to bear fruition, to the Central and State governments and civil society.
Prof Dr Aung Tun Thet, Economic Adviser to the President of Myanmar, is also expected to attend the seminar.
