Bangla seeks help to nab absconding cop

SHILLONG, Oct 26 - An absconding Bangladeshi policeman from Sylhet district is believed to have sneaked into India to avoid arrest in his country.

The absconding policemen named Sub-Inspector Akbar Hossain Bhuiyan went missing following accusation of a custodial death at Bandarbazaar police outpost in Sylhet district. He, along with some of his colleagues were suspended following the reported custodial death of one Rayhan Ahmed.

Although most of his colleagues involved in the cases are either suspended or arrested, Bhuiyan did not report for interrogation and possibly sneaked into India.

Sources said that Bangladeshi authorities have been informed by their Indian counterpart about the absconding policeman and sought their assistance in nabbing him.
