Bangla Foreign Minister to visit Tripura

AGARTALA, Oct 23 � Aiming to boost the bilateral ties with India�s Northeastern States, Bangladesh Foreign Minister Dr Dipu Moni will be arriving here on a two-day visit on November 10, official sources said on Saturday.

Dr Dipu Moni will enter the capital town here through Akhaura Immigration Centre and go to the Raj Bhavan where Tripura Chief Minister Manik Sarkar and his Cabinet colleagues will be acquainted with the Bangladesh Minister.

Dr Dipu Moni, who would be leading a team of high-level officials of her Ministry, will move for Sabroom by a chopper on November 11. At Sabroom, State�s southern subdivision, she will open the �suspended� Land Customs Station (LCS) to pave the way for bilateral trade between Sabroom in South Tripura district and Ramgarh in Bangaldesh.

Sources said, the Bangladesh Minister will also attend a meeting with local businessmen to know their views on the resumption of trade with Bangladesh.

Dr Dipu Moni will also visit Chottakhola in Belonia subdivision where she will unveil a park to commemorate the contribution of Mukti Bahini to the Bangladesh Liberation War in 1971.
