GUWAHATI, April 17 - Shurer Dhara, a leading cultural organisation of Bangladesh hosted a four-day cultural carnival �Miloner Chonde Praner Anonde� recently where artistes of Assam also participated . They performed Sattriya on Rabindranath Tagore�s famous dance drama �Chandalika�.
The group participated under the mentorship of Padmashree awardee Jatin Gowami. Cultural Minister of Bangladesh Asadujjaman Noor was also present on the occasion.
Dr Saumen Bharatiya, president of Byatikram MASDO which facilitated the participants in association with the Department of Cultural Affairs, Assam, said �From last few years we are working in promoting fruitful cultural exchange programmes between Assam and Bangladesh. Through this programme in Bangladesh, we could see a beautiful combination of Srimanta Shankardev and Rabindranath Tagore. The relation which we want to build up the dance drama presented by our team is an apt example.�
