Bangalore Blues earns Dubai trip with win

GUWAHATI, Dec 18 - At the end of a tough fight among the participants of the 11th edition of popular quizzing event Brain Jam on Saturday evening, Bangalore-based team Bangalore Blues clinched the title and walked away with the RG Khanna memorial trophy and a packaged trip to Dubai.

Brain Jam, one of the most awaited quiz events has, over the years, secured a place among the quiz lovers of the State due to its grandeur and the witty presentation by ace quizmaster Barry O�Brien, who enthralled the audience for the 11th year in a row with interesting questions and a great sense of humour.

Held at the Pragjyoti ITA Machkhowa, the Indian Oil Servo Brain Jam 2016 National Quiz was dedicated to the large volume of work done by the pioneer of Indian quiz, the late Neil O�Brien. Two teams selected from the prelims, which was open only for the North East, competed against the four teams from the four zones of the country. After the preliminary round, two teams entered the finals and had to face teams from Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai and Bangalore.

The winning team, Bangalore Blues, was represented by Anustup Dutta and Thejaswi Udupa, whereas the first runner-up team Delhi Dil Se, represented by Subhrajit Bhattacharya and Kunal Malhotra, won a packaged trip to Bangkok. Dipankar Ray, Executive Director IOCL, was present in the award ceremony.

To mark the occasion, a 28-page tabloid dedicated to Neil O�Brien was released.

A pre-event competition was also organised in the social media, where people across the country participated. The IIM Shillong initiated a pre-event quiz among top B-schools in India, where students from top management schools participated and won prizes.
