Bandh on Imphal-Ukhrul road continues

IMPHAL, May 20 � The indefinite bandh on Imphal-Ukhrul road has affected normal traffic on the route for the third day on Wednesday.

The bandh also affected shops and business establishments as not a single passenger vehicle was seen plying on the route.

The indefinite bandh was imposed on Monday by the Joint Action Committee (JAC) against the killing of one Konsam Koroungaba demanding immediate booking and punishment of the policemen involved in the incident.

On May 17, a student � Konsam Korounganba (19) sustained serious injury while his friend K Vivek (19) was hurt in the neck when State police commandos allegedly fired at a speeding car at Kangla Sangomsang area, near Imphal. Korounganba succumbed to his injury at the hospital on Monday while Vivek is undergoing treatment.
