Balya Bhawan shines at science drama contest

GUWAHATI, Oct 22 - The Regional Science Centre (RSC), Guwahati, organised a State Level Science Drama competition and a Zonal Level Science Drama competition at its Khanapara premises on October 19 and October 21.

The theme of the competitions was �Science and Society� and there were sub-themes like �Clean India: Healthy India�, �Food Security and Nutrition�, �Digital India: Power to Empower�, �Make in India�, �Green Energy� and �Life and Works of a Scientist�.

At the State Level Science Drama competition held on October 19, a total of eight teams from different districts of Assam participated.

The team from Balya Bhawan School, Jorhat, emerged winner at the competition.

On October 21, six teams from different states of the North Eastern region, including Assam, participated in the Zonal Level Drama competition.

As per decision of the panel of four judges, the team from Balya Bhawan, Jorhat, was declared winner for its drama �Seujor Sondhanat.

The second best team in the Zonal Level competition was from Brighter Academy, Manpur, for their drama titled �Stop Pollution, Save Life�.

Dilip Kumar Das, Director of All India Radio (Guwahati), was the chief guest in the prize distribution ceremony on October 21.

The winner and runner-up teams of the North East Zonal Science Drama competition will represent the North Eastern region in the National Science Drama Festival to be held at Visvesvaraya Industrial and Technological Museum, Bangalore, in January next.
