RANGIYA, Jan 21 - The historic Balisatra Satsangi Satra Sabha Mahotsav will be held at Balisatra with a five-day long colourful religious programmes from January 26 next.

The programme would start with inauguration of Satra office A Talukdar, executive member of BJP State committee, followed by aariya prajwalan (community lighting of earthen lamps), to be inaugurated by Rabindranath Goswami, Satradhikar, Balisatra Satsangi Satra. Lok Sabha MP Bijoya Chakravarty, Rajya Sabha MPs Bhubaneswar Kalita and Biswajit Daimary, donator of the satra temple and gate, Manturam Das, local MLA of Rangiya LAC Bhabesh Kalita, local MLA of Kamalpur LAC Satyabrat Kalita, local MLA of Sipajhar LAC Binanda Saikia, RSS NE Chapter publicity secretary Sankar Das, former Principal of Arya Vidyapeeth College, Satradhikar of Barbari Satra Dinesh Goswami, retired sub-teacher of Rangiya HSS Tarun Saikia, besides several other dignitaries will take part in this programme.

The religious kitchen building would be inaugurated by Dinamoni Bhandar Kayastha, Asstt Manager, AMTRON. Later, in the evening, the main event of the Sabha, Topadwani Prajwalan and installation of idol of Mahaprabhu Bongshi Gopal at the main Sabha site would be held. In this connection, the Governor of Assam Prof Jagadish Mukhi would inaugurate the programme as the chief guest.

On the following day, on January 27, the programme would begin with prabhat pheri and usha kirtan, followed by the annual religious ritual at the satra premises. Art competition, aayati naam, nagara naam and modern dance competition would be held later. On January 29, the day would begin with hom-yajna, followed by a religious meet on importance of spiritual philosophy of Sri Sri Haridev in the present day context of the society, which would be inaugurated by chief adviser of AASU Dr Samujjal Kr Bhattacharyya. The said session would be moderated by Kanteswar Kalita, former secretary, NE India Haridev Sangha and will be participated by former Education Minister of Assam Thaneswar Boro and Satradhikar of Sri Sri Jakhalabandha Satra, Nagaon, Jugal Ch Goswami respectively as appointed speakers. The day's programme would conclude with a religious cultural show.

On the concluding day, on January 30, the programme would begin with Sri Sri Haridev Gurucharit Paath by the members of Sri Sri Bongshi Gopal religious study circle, Balisatra, followed by aayati naam, naagara naam, reinstallation of Sri Sri Bongshi Gopal idol at main Satra temple, and dharmadhwaja (religious flag) unfurling. The day would conclude with a variety of cultural programmes to be performed by popular children artiste Raj Abhilekh Upamanyu of Balisatra, Kusum Kailash and several other invited artistes. President Nirmal Ch Kalita and secretary Hemanta Das on behalf of the Sabha Mahotsava Management committee have solicited the presence and participation of section of the religious people to make the historic occasion a success.
