Baksa dist limping back to normalcy

By Correspondent

BARAMA, May 13 The overall situation in the entire Baksa district is under control with imposition of curfew during the night hours.

The role of the Army and CRPF in the tension-ridden places of Baksa district is praiseworthy. Police and security personnel have been patrolling round-the-clock in order to ensure that no untoward incidents can take place within the district. The situation, it seems, has limped back to normal after Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi and his colleagues visited the violence-hit villages like Nonk Khagrabari recently and met the victims immediate kith and kin.

Differnent peace loving organisations have in the meantime appealed to all sections of the people irrespective of caste, creed and religion or party affiliation to help restore peace in the district. Several organisations have come forward to provide assistance to the victims families.

Tight security by the district administration is being provided in all the sensitive places. Members of the AASU, ABSU, ABMSU and ACKRASU visited all the trouble-torn areas and requested the common people to exercise maximum restraint so as to restore peace and normalcy in the district.

Peace meetings initiated by the Baksa district administration has been able to restore the peoples confidence to a large extent in the fear-charged environment.

Of late, no fresh incidence of violence has been reported so far, though fear psychosis still reigns supreme in certain vulnerable pockets of the district.
