NALBARI, Oct 19 � As the festival of lights Diwali comes near, the local artisans of Bahjani area in Nalbari district are very much busy in making their traditional fireworks. The fireworks and crackers of Bahjani area have much demand in Nalbari and its adjoining districts.
In Bahjani area, the families of Jayanta Kalita and Atul Kalita have been engaged in this profession for generations. After the popularity of the crackers named �Laden� and �Anamika� last year, the firework makers of the area have made �Modi� crackers this year to attract the people. They said that the new �Modi� crackers will light up the State�s skyline with colours on the evening of Diwali. They claimed that the new crackers will touch a height of 70 feet and the brightness of colours is more than others. They added that the �Modi� crackers will be available in the markets of Kamrup, Goalpara, Rangiya, Mangaldoi, Tezpur among others.
