TURA, Aug 23 - The poor state of rural infrastructure has come to the fore once again with the Baghmara SBI branch remaining inactive for the 8th consecutive day today following a technical glitch.
According to sources, the branch lost its link to the server over a week ago and is yet to be restored despite repeated reminders from the administration, police as well as locals.
�The bank is not closed but has been running without any transaction for the last eight days due to link failure. Locals have submitted numerous complaints with the SBI regional headquarter on the matter. They assured restoration of service, but action is yet to be taken,� said SP Abraham T Sangma.
Local residents stated that the neglect shown by the SBI is appalling while demanding for services to be restored immediately.
�We are facing tremendous hardships due to the appalling attitude of SBI officials,� said a businessman from the town.
Another resident called the denial of service as a violation of basic rights for which the SBI should take responsibility.
