By Correspondent

DOOMDOOMA, Aug 24 - The victims of Baghjan gas well blowout incident resorted to a protest in front of the Deputy Commissioners Office, Tinsukia after deserting their relief camp at Baghjan Dighaltarrang ME School under the aegis of Baghjan Gaon Milanjyoti Yuva Sangha on Monday.

They decided to set up a temporary relief camp in front of the DCs office and live there until their demands were fulfilled. Demanding justice, the inmates holding placards shouted slogans against OIL and the district administration.

It can be mentioned here that despite several attempts, the OIL failed to douse the flame even after 90 days of blowout in BGR-5 of the Baghjan oilfield. The compensation issue is yet to be resolved as administration has not completed the survey works that encompasses all parameters of livelihood including livestock.
