MANGALDAI, Jan 6 - Dikraj Kalita has bagged the crown in the senior boys (U-16) category in the Jibon Deka and Renu Deka memorial 2nd Darrang School Prize-Money Badminton Tournament, organised by the Mangaldai Club here.
In the final played at the Gopinath Bordoloi Indoor Stadium here last evening, Dikraj defeated Bhargab Moni Kashyap 21-19, 21-17.
On the other hand, in the final of junior section (U-13) Sohail Islam emerged champion registering a comfortable 21-19, 21-6 win over Naieem Anjum.
In the final of the girls open category Chinmoyee Medhi smashed Junom Nishi Hazarika 21-5, 21-6 to win the crown.
The champions were awarded Rs 20,000 each along with trophies. Pratap Bordoloi, chairman Mangaldai Municipality Board, journalists Ganesh Dutta and Abdul Khaleque were present during the closing function as guests.
