Badminton camp held at Mangaldai

MANGALDAI, April 11 - A ten-day special badminton training camp for the young shuttlers of Darrang district, for both boys and girls organised by the Darrang Badminton Association in association with the Mangaldai Club came to an end here at the Gopinath Bordoloi Indoor Stadium on Wednesday evening.

Altogether 54 players attended the camp which was conducted by NIS coach Priyanuz Duwara as the chief trainer while Pankaj Kr Nath, Rajesh Sindhu and Debojit Das acted as his assistants.

A competition was organised among the trainees where Partho Protim Saharia, Junom Nishi Hazarika, Raihanuz Zaman, Kunal Krishna Kashyap and Lipshita Deka emerged as the winners in their respective boys and girls categories.

In the closing function, Dr Amarendra Narayan Deb, secretary, Mangaldai Club and Basanta Deka, secretary, Darrang Badminton Association, among others gave away the trophies and certificates to the winners.
