BADARPUR, May 31 - Sakhil Akhtar, a student of Badarpur Beacon Junior College in Karimganj district, has brought laurels to his institution by securing the 8th position in the Higher Secondary final examination for the year 2018 in Science stream, the results of which were declared today by the Assam Higher Secondary Education Council (AHSEC).
Akhtar has achieved this remarkable success without taking any private tuition, the College authorities told this correspondent.
Principal Rupam Sharma and other teachers of the College expressed satisfaction over the performance of students of the institution in all the streams.
Immediately after the announcement of results, Akhtar told The Assam Tribune that he had expected to secure a rank from the very beginning, and for which he had studied hard without wasting time.
Akhtar gave credit for his success to his parents and teachers of the College.
Meanwhile, the overall HS results in the district are very encouraging, informed the principals of a few other higher secondary schools and colleges in the district.
