GUWAHATI, April 21 � Mohammedan Sporting Kolkata edged past Lonster Kashmir Football Club 2-1 while Aizwal Football Club played a goalless draw against United Football Club, Kolkata on the opening day of the B Division I League at Golaghat Stadium today.
In the morning, the exciting match between United FC Kolkata and Aizwal FC ended in a draw despite both the teams putting up a strong show to surge ahead.
The second match in the afternoon also enthralled the crowd as both the teams adopted attacking tactics from the word go.
The Kashmir team went ahead in the 15th minute when striker Ajoy Singh headed home. They maintained the lead till the break.
But the Kolkata outfit kept their cool and levelled the issue in the 62nd minute through Sandip Singh. Their foreign recruit Danial Ayani netted the match-winning goal in the 80th minute.
