Azmat-E-Sahaba conference held at Amoni

NAGAON, March 1 � The Azmat-E-Sahaba conference organised by the Jamiat-E-Ulama Hind was held on Friday at Amoni in Nagaon district.

The main attraction of the conference was Imam of Maszid-A-Nabawi of Madina, Dr Saikh Abdul Mohsin Al Quasim. In his address, Imam Dr Mohsin recalled the age-old relationship between the Arab countries and India. He further said that Islam is a religion of peace and today also it carries the flag of peace to the different part of the globe.

Dr Mohsin in his address highlighted the religious ethics of Islam as well as the life and works of Prophet Mohammad and his immediate followers who are called Sahaba. He appealed to the people in general and specially the Muslims of the world to follow in their footsteps.

Dr Mohsin delivered his lecture in Arabic which was translated into Urdu by Syed Arshad Madani, president of Central Jamiat. Moulana Syed Arshad Madani chaired the function.

The programme started with the recitation of Quran by Quarri Niazuddin. President of the Assam State Jamiat Moulana Abdul Jalil Ragibi welcomed the guests.

The general secretary of the Central Jamiat, Moulana Abdul Alim Faruquee in his address highlighted the tradition of Islam. �Jamiat is not totally involved in politics�, he added.

Dr Mohsin also led the Jumma prayer and prayed for world peace. Lakhs of people from different parts of the State as well as some from other States gathered at the conference venue to have a glance of the Imam of the Maszid-E- Nawaabi.
