Ayushman Bharat campaign begins in Mizoram

By Correspondent

AIZAWL, Sept 16 - The Ayushman Bharat Pakhwada, a fortnight-long campaign on comprehensive healthcare schemes, commenced on Monday with a walkathon, which was flagged off by Dr ZR Thiamsanga, MLA and vice chairman of the Health & Family Welfare Board.

Starting at Vanapa Hall, the Healthy India Fortnight Walkathon ended at the Millennium Centre, where the inaugural function was organised.

Dr Thiamsanga said people in Mizoram were beginning to realise the importance of good health, but more efforts were required. Ayushman Bharat, he believed, would be a big facilitating exercise for a state like Mizoram which urgently needs to improve its healthcare infrastructure. He invited people to participate and cooperate for the success of the Ayushman Bharat campaign. He also voiced optimism on the revamped Mizoram State Healthcare Schemes, to be launched by Chief Minister Zoramthanga in the first week of October.
