AYP organises workshop

MORIGAON, July 26 - The Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) has threatened to break alliance with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for its silence on the Citizenship Amendment Bill . The senior leaders of the party while addressing a workshop of Asom Yuba parishad (AYP) claimed that AGP has already clarified its position. �If situation demands, we will break alliance with BJP,� the senior leaders claimed.

The day-long workshop of AYP covering Nagaon, Morigaon, and Hojai districts was inaugurated by Dilip Bora, vice president of AGP. In his inaugural speech, Dilip Bora said that the youths of Assam played a key role during the Assam agitation . �Now, the time has come, our youths should protest similar way against the Bill, Bora added.

The inaugural meeting was presided over by Sunil Deka, President of Asom Yuba Parishad. Speaking on the occasion, Satyabrat Kalita, MLA, Kamalpur, said that people of Assam must oppose the Bill as it would affect the people of the state . Addressing the gathering, Phani Bhushan Choudhury appealed to the members of the party to strengthen the organisation in the grassroot level.
