Awareness programme on consumer rights today

GUWAHATI, March 14 - To create awareness among the common people about consumer rights and laws on the eve of World Consumer Rights Day, the Consumers� Legal Protection Forum (CLPF) is organising a public meeting-cum-awareness camp in collaboration with the Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs Department Retired Officers� Association, Assam, at the Dispur Super Market here from 3 pm tomorrow.

In a statement, the CLPF said that there would be an open session during the programme, in which the victim consumers will be able to discuss various problems they face as consumers.

Legal experts of CLPF will provide free legal aid to the victim consumers at the programme.

An awareness lecture on this year�s theme �Antibiotics off the Menu�, of World Consumer Rights Day will be delivered by advocate Ajoy Hazarika, secretary CLPF, and governing council member of the Consumer Coordination Council, New Delhi.
