Awareness meet on Swachh Survekshan Grameen held at Goreswar

GORESWAR, Aug 25 - With a view to spread the message of cleanliness among villagers, an awareness programme on Swachh Survekshan Grameen (SSG) was held at Bishnu Rabha Bhawan recently. The awareness meeting was presided over by retired headmaster, Pradip Deka and the purpose of the meeting was explained by Harihar Basumatary, Junior Engineer (PHE).

Addressing the gathering, Archita Bhattacharjee, Technical Officer of Swachh Bharat Mission spoke on Swachh Bharat Mission widely. She appealed to the anganwadi and ASHA workers to keep their centres neat and clean.

Attending as the chief guest, Jyotirmoy Goswami, Technical Officer of Baksa PHE division speaking in the meeting gave lessons on how to download the SSG 18 app on mobile phonesand use it to participate in Swachh Survekskhan Grameen. He also demonstrated with a mobile among the participants.

As a distinguished guest, Raj Kumar Deka took part in the awareness meeting and said that the meaning of Swachh Survekshan is a survey. It will survey how much the district is clean. A Central team will survey the schools, angwanwadi centres, health centres, market places and religious centres in the villages. So, all the departments should be aware about cleanliness in the district. He also said that awareness meetings on Swachh Survekshan Grameen have been held in each district from August 1 with a month-long programme.

The vice-chairman of the Goreswar town committee, Mantu Ram Deka also spoke on Swachh Bharat Mission in the meeting.

A cleanliness drive was also organised at the premises of Goreswar Durga Puja Mandap before the meeting which was inaugurated by Heramba Guswami, O/C of Goreswar police station.
