GUWAHATI, Jan 25 - A police officer from Assam will receive the President�s Police Medal for distinguished service, while five police personnel will get police medal for gallantry and eight will get police medal for meritorious service.
An official release said that Additional Director General of Police, YK Gautam will be conferred the President�s Police Medal for Distinguished Service.
Nitul Gogoi (SP), Rosie Kalita (Additional SP), Jyoti Prasad Handique (Sub-Inspector), Bipul Thapa and Rajib Kumar Rabha (Constable) have been selected for Police Gallantry Medal.
Indrani Baruah (SP), Dharani Dhar Mahanta (Inspector), Tapan Kumar Mahanta (Sub-Inspector), Panne Lal Gupta (ASI), Sandip Deb (ASI), Ajit Kalita (Havildar), Binode Singh (Havildar) and Arjun Kumar Thakur (Constable) have been selected for Police Medal for Meritorious Service.
