GUWAHATI, Oct 18 - The Union Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises has selected Assam�s Pabitra Buragohain for the National Award for Outstanding Efforts in Entrepreneurship in Small Enterprises (Northeast).
Buragohain, a first generation entrepreneur, is the managing director of Orient Processors Pvt Ltd located at Lokhra Lalung Gaon here, a medium-scale enterprise and the only cotton yarn manufacturing, dyeing and processing unit in NE with state-of-art machinery imported from Italy, Germany, Hong Kong and USA. He had set up the venture in 2001 after completing MBA and the enterprise has been able to maintain a annual growth of 40 to 45 percent.
He is among 34 entrepreneurs selected for the Awards for the year 2014. They were given today at a function held at Punjab Agricultural University at Ludhiana.
