GUWAHATI, Aug 13 - Mumbai-based entrepreneurs Jutika Mahanta from Assam and Rebecca Changkija Sema from Nagaland have been conferred the Mahatma Gandhi National Award, 2020.
The award, instituted by the Mahatma Gandhi Global Peace Forum, honours exceptional work in the fields of humanity, art and culture, peace and brotherhood.
Fourteen youth leaders doing commendable jobs in their respective fields in various parts of the country have been conferred this honour by the forum. The awardees from the North East were chosen for their pioneering role in exploring the talent from the NE and giving them a platform in Mumbai, as well as promoting the tradition and culture of the NE across the globe.
