Award instituted for young engineers

GUWAHATI, Nov 19 � The Senior Engineers� Forum, an organisation of retired engineers settled in Guwahati, has instituted an award for young engineers serving in the North East, who have shown exemplary brilliance and dedication in their field of work, a press release said.

All engineers who are engaged in private and public sector undertakings, including Government jobs are eligible for nomination. The nominees should not be above 35 years of age and should have at least graduation in any Engineering discipline from a recognised university or institution. The nominee must have served for at least three years in NE.

The head of the organisation where the engineer is serving must forward the name with details as outlined in the �proforma for nomination� that would be sent to the concerned offices very shortly.

The award consists of a citation and a gold medal. The awardees would be selected by an expert body of professionals.

Hareswar Talukdar, president of the Forum, requests competing organisations to co-operate and help in identying and recognising young engineers of the region who have made significant contribution in the process of building and developing this region of the country.
