GUWAHATI, June 17 - Anuprerana, a socio-cultural organisation, has instituted an award in the memory of Eva Asao, the Assamese screen and stage icon of the post-independent era.
The first award will be presented to eminent actress of the Assamese film and stage industry, Purnima Pathak Saikia, in recognition of her contribution to Assamese cinema and drama.
The award will be presented by Governor Prof Jagdish Mukhi at a function at the Vivekananda Kendra at 4 pm on June 24.
