GUWAHATI, Sept 8 - The State government has instituted a memorial award to honour the legacy of the doyen of Assamese drama Brajanath Sarma.
The inaugural Silpi-Sainik Brajanath Sarma Memorial Award 2017 will be presented to eminent artiste Dasarath Das.
The award will be conferred on Das at a function to be held at Barnagar College, Sarbhog at 3 pm on September 12. Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal will formally present the award.
The award carries Rs 1 lakh, a citation and an angabastra.
