GUWAHATI, March 4 - Two special athletes, Laxmi Kumari and Anyatam Rajkumar of Special Olympic Bharat, have been awarded with prize-money by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Govt. of India.
Laxmi will receive Rs 8,00,000 for her gold medal winning performance in softball and silver in 50m run while Anyatam will be awarded Rs 5,00,000 for winning the gold medal in the 25m breast stroke. Both the athletes represented India in the 2015 Special Olympics at Los Angeles, stated a press note.
