GUWAHATI, Jan 17 � Assamese folk artiste and scholar Anjali Mahanta Roychoudhury will be presented the International Sattyendra Nath Datta Smriti Award by the Kolkata-based Michael Madhusudan Academy at a function in Kolkata University on January 25 for her contribution to Assamese socio-culture and literature, a communique from the Academy stated. A performing artiste of AIR and Doordarshan, Roychoudhury is an exponent of Borgeet and an expert in Sattrija culture. Roychoudhury has also authored two valuable books titled Asomor Lokajeevan aru Lokakala and Asomor Lokasahitya aru Lokasanskriti and the latter is a course book in BA (Major) of Gauhati University.
