Award for Assamese writer

JORHAT, Aug 19 - Malakshmi Borthakur, a multilingual poet, short story writer and translator from Assam, has been jointly honoured by a globally-acclaimed literary forum, Motivational Strips and Gujarat Sahitya Academy (under Gujarat State Government) on the occasion of 74th Independence Day.

She has made it to the list of 350 writers from 80 countries across the world.

Malakshmi has pursued her literary career as a writer from a very young age. She is a specialist in multilingual poetry and writes most of her poems in English, Hindi and her mother tongue, Assamese. Apart from poetry, she has proven her mettle in short-story writing and translations also.

She has been awarded with many international honours such as the �World Award For Literary Excellence, 2019-20� from the Government of Peru and the �Altyn Kalam� (the �Golden Pen�) award from World Nations Writers Union, Kazakhstan.
