Avians throng Maguri Motapung Beel

DOOMDOOMA, Dec 20 - With the advent of the winter season, migratory birds of various hues have started flocking Maguri Motapung Beel in Tinsukia district.

Numerous places in Upper Assam too have turned into a seasonal paradise for such avian visitors. Different species of migratory birds have already reached the beels and such other locally available water bodies.

Among the avians seen in the beels, some locally known birds are Kamcharai, Dhritaraj, Samukbhanga, Lajuki Dhapalika, Chakoi-Chakowa etc.

These birds have obviously attracted many tourists to these water bodies. A few eco-tourism resorts established by the local youths have been providing all possible assistance to the tourists for bird sightings.
