GUWAHATI, Nov 7 - The All Assam Police Association (AAPA) has expressed deep anguish and strongly condemned the attacks on police officers and staff on duty on various court complexes in Delhi.
�We also stand in solidarity with the injured police personnel and their families and also express gratitude to the entire civil society for their support to police,� the association said.
The association urged the Union Home Minister to revoke the order of suspension and transfer of police officers of Delhi Police ordered following the clash. �The Union Home Ministry should set up a judicial enquiry. Cases should be registered against the lawyers by the complainants and strict action taken against the guilty,� the association said.
Association president Binod Kalita and general secretary Taheruddin Ahmed said special laws should to be implemented which will act as a deterrent against such assaults on personnel in uniform on duty anywhere in the country.
