IMPHAL, Oct 20 � The All Tribal Students� Union Manipur (ATSUM) has decided to resume its indefinite National Highways blockade beginning midnight tonight. All the National Highways connecting Manipur will be blocked in protest against the non-implementation of the agreement reached between the tribal student body and the State Government on November 25 last year, a Press release said.
ATSUM has been demanding the Manipur Government to provide proper infrastructure to all schools in hill areas, early setting up of B ED centres and separate office of the Directorate of Education (S) Hills.
Meanwhile, four organisations including Manipur State Shumang Leela Council have made an appeal to the ATSUM to refrain from creating hurdle in view of the upcoming festivals of Ningol Chakouba.
