GUWAHATI, Jan 5 � The All Tai Ahom Students� Union (ATASU) has chalked out an agitational programme in support of their demand for according the Scheduled Tribe (ST) status to the Tai Ahom community of the State.
As part of the agitational programme, the members of the students� body will stage a sit-in demonstration in front of the Raj Bhawan here on February 19. This will be followed by a 48-hour fast in Guwahati from March 2 next and a sit-in demonstration at New Delhi Jantar Mantar on March 9 next, said a press release.
