ASTU-USTM MoU on joint outreach progs

GUWAHATI, Nov 6 - The Assam Science and Technology University (ASTU) and the University of Science and Technology Meghalaya (USTM) today signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) which is expected to benefit both the institutions in areas of faculty and student exchange programmes, submission of collaborative projects and conduction of seminars, work-shops, etc., jointly as outreach programmes.

The MoU signing ceremony held in the conference hall of USTM was attended by a delegation of ASTU led by their VC Dr Dhiraj Bora; Mahbubul Hoque, Chancellor USTM; Prof GD Sharma, VC USTM and other higher authorities, administrative officials and faculty members of USTM.

USTM Chancellor Hoque said the initiative would surely set a new milestone in the field of science and technology in North East India. ASTU Vice Chancellor Dr Bora said encouraging the students in research-oriented activities should be the need of the hour.

USTM Vice Chancellor Prof Sharma hoped the initiative would open up new windows for various research-oriented activities and technological development with respect to the North East.
