ASTU signs MoU with Russian university

GUWAHATI, Aug 25 - Assam Science and Technology University (ASTU) recently signed an MoU on cooperation and commitment with RUDN University (Peoples� Friendship University of Russia), Moscow.

The MoU acknowledges the importance of partnership based on the principles of voluntary participation, equality, common good and reciprocity and creates a partnership agreement between the two universities intending to strengthen cooperation in the field of science, technology and education, a press release said.

The major thrusts of the MoU are on short-term exchange programmes for scientists, researchers, technical experts and lecturers, specialised educational programmes to promote human capital in the fields of science, technology and education, joint scientific guidance for MSc and PhD students, exchange of information, development and implementation of joint educational programmes, etc.

The final signing ceremony took place through an online cloud meeting hosted by RUDN University, led by ASTU Vice Chancellor Prof Dhiraj Bora at ASTU campus at Jalukbari, Guwahati and RUDN team led by its Vice Rector Larisa I Efremovaat and witnessed by VV Dementiev, Director for Russian Centre for Science and Culture in Kolkata.
