ASTU celebrates Technology Day

JALUKBARI, May 14 - Assam Science and Technology University (ASTU), a State-run university under the Assam government, organised a day-long programme for school children to celebrate National Technology Day. The programme was held on May 11 at GU Model High School (English Section), Jalukbari, in association with SparkBee, a group of young engineers, Kendriya Vidyalaya Khanapara Alumni Association.

Around 500 children from 20 schools in and around Guwahati participated in the programme, which included an exhibition of robotic models made by students, rocket-making and launching, a robotic game titled Robokhel, robotics demonstrations, a quiz competition and an essay competition.

ASTU Vice Chancellor Prof (Dr) Dhiraj Bora addressed the children on the significance of National Technology Day. After the distribution of prizes to the winners of the various competitions, a short science fiction movie was screened for the students.
