ASTC�s loss till Sept of 2019-20 stood at Rs 1,332.61 lakh

GUWAHATI, Nov 28 - During the 2019-20 financial year till September, the Assam State Transport Corporation (ASTC) has suffered losses to the tune of Rs 1,332.61 lakh. This was stated by Transport Minister Chandra Mohan Patowary in the Assembly today.

In a written reply, Patowary said that till September during the 2019-20 financial year, the ASTC earned revenue of Rs 5,076.75 lakh and against the revenue generation, its expenses amounted to Rs 6,409.36 lakh.

During the said period, the corporation earned Rs 4,206.21 lakh from its own buses. But Rs 2,432.80 lakh was spent as operational expenses of its buses and expenses of Rs 3976.56 lakh took place in payment of salary to staff.

The average revenue earned per month till September was Rs 846.13 lakh and the average loss per month was Rs 222.10 lakh. Moreover, the average expense per month was Rs 1068.23 lakh.

In 2018-19 financial year, ASTC�s total revenue collection was Rs 9.390.41 lakh and the net loss was Rs 3,875.64 lakh. During that financial year, the average revenue collection per month was Rs 782.53 lakh, the average total expenses per month was Rs 1105.50 lakh and the loss per month was Rs 322.97 lakh, the minister informed the Assembly.
