Assemblies, functions banned in State educational institutions

GUWAHATI, March 14 - As part of preventive interventions to contain the outbreak of noval coronavirus in the State, the State government has prohibited morning assemblies and other gatherings, including exhibitions, excursions, etc., in schools and other educational institutions.

In a notification, the government said no exhibitions, etc., shall be organised in schools, colleges, higher educational institutions, etc. No excursions or exposure visits will be undertaken by the schools, colleges and higher educational institutions, etc.

Directing the institutions to sensitize the students and enforce preventive interventions, such as frequent hand wash, respiratory etiquettes and avoid gatherings, etc., the government also instructed the heads of institutions to ensure necessary sanitation measures accordingly.

The preventive measures will remain in force till April 15.
