GUWAHATI, March 13 � The State government today said that immediate action will be taken regarding the incident of alleged physical assault on a group of journalists by miscreants at Doboka in Nagaon on March 11.
AGP MLA Keshab Mahanta raised the issue in Zero Hour and said a group of seven journalists were assaulted by miscreants at a sand quarry in Doboka when the journalists were on assignment.
Mahanta said that no action has been taken against the miscreants despite lodging of FIR and journalists at Nagaon had been forced to resort to holding demonstration to press for action.
Following this, the Parliamentary Affairs Minister Rakibul Hussain said, �We will take immediate action in the matter.�
