GUWAHATI, June 9 - Akasei Seema, the Assamese translation of the English bestseller You are Destined for the Skies! by popular motivational author Fr Alfonso Elengikal, was released at a programme held at the Peace Centre, Ambari here today. The translated version of the book was released by Reverend John Moolachira, archbishop of Guwahati, stated a press release.
Noted litterateur and Editor of Gariyoshi Dr Lakshmi Nandan Bora received the first copy of the book from the archbishop. Reverend Fr Januarius S Sangma, SDB, Salesian Provincial, Guwahati Province, took part in the programme as the guest of honour.
The original English version of the book has been translated into Assamese by Dr Makhan Lal Das, former professor at Assam Engineering College, Guwahati. Prof Das is well known for his proficiency in Assamese and has a number of books in Assamese to his credit.
First published in English in 2014, You are Destined for the Skies! is also available in Telugu, Malayalam, Gujarati and Khasi.
Fr Elengikal, who has served as the director of Guwahati-based North East Social Communication for three years, will shortly leave for Mumbai to take up his new assignment as editor of The Teenager, a national youth magazine.
Fr Elengikal has to his credit two other bestsellers � You Can Make A Difference! and Let the Real You Stand Up, added the release.
