GUWAHATI, May 17 - Dr Arati Barua from Assam, who is an associate professor of philosophy at the Deshbandhu College, University of Delhi, has been honoured with the �Bharat Excellence 2016� award by Friendship Forum (FFI) in recognition to show that she is a great achiever who has done something extraordinary for her country and countrymen and has attained greater excellence in her field of activity and enhanced the image of India.
The award carries a citation, a gold medal and a certificate of excellence.
Previous recipients of this award included Khursheed Alam Khan, Sunil Dutt, Justice PN Bhagwati, Dev Anand, Shammi Kapoor, Ustad Amjad Ali Khan, Sunil Gavaskar, Manik Dastoor and BKS Iyengar.
