GUWAHATI, April 5 � Giti Pancha Shata, a collection of over 500 Assamese lyrics published in five books, i.e., Giti Anjali, Giti Manjori, Giti Bornali, Giti Swarnali and Desh Mor Gite Gite � authored by Nilakanta Sarmah, a senior lyricist of AIR and Doordarshan � was formally released at the Guwahati Press Club on Friday.
Alekhya Lahari, a collection of ten musical features was also released on the occasion.
The books were released by Dr Satyendranarayan Goswami, Dr Pramod Chandra Bhattacharya, Dr Lakhyahira Das, Dr Harendra Nath Sarmah, Dr Prabir Kumar Bardoloi, Dinesh Barman, Baneswar Khaund and Bhubaneswar Sarmah.
The meeting termed the books as an important addition to Assamese lyrical literature.
Bani Mandir is the publisher of the books, a press release said.
