Diphu, June 24: Anti-element activities are on the rise along Assam-Nagaland border. Karbi Anglong police today managed to nab a youth with arms and ammunition here today.
According to reports, on the basis of specific information received, an operation was conducted at Paka field area under Khatkhati police station under the leadership of John Das, SDPO, Bokajan subdivision in association with Bhupen Kalita, Circle Inspector of Barpathar Police Station, officer in-charge, Khakhati police station, Mwblik Brahma, Mohan Nath, SI and police team .
During the operation police managed to apprehend one Sahil Khan alias Salman Khan (23), resident of Tarapur under Bashkandi police station, Silchar. As per the police sources, the apprehended youth had been residing temporarily at Barma camp, Dimapur, Nagaland. Police recovered two pistols like one 7.65 mm pistol, one .22 mm pistol; two magazines along with seven rounds of live ammunition were recovered from the possession of the youth. The arms were brought with the aim to sell in Assam, police sources said.
Investigation is on in this regard for further information.
