Silchar, May 26: Student volunteers under the National Service Scheme (NSS) unit of Women's College Silchar distributed facemasks and urged people young and old to remain alert on the ill-effects of COVID-19 and stressed on the need for hand sanitisation at regular intervals.

Dr Sanghamitra Debnath, programme officer of NSS unit of the college informed that the student volunteers reached out to people from their respective localities adhering to the COVID-19 protocol. She added to inform that the volunteers are also motivating people to get vaccinated as well.

"We have asked our volunteers to aware people on the proper use of face mask and urge people for vaccination," the NSS programme officer informed.
