Guwahati, Jan 11: The Northeast Frontier Railways (NFR) recognised the efforts of an RPF head constable of Tinsukia division, AB Sikder, who saved the life of an elderly who slipped while boarding the Guwahati-Ledo Intercity Express at Tinsukia railway station on December 11, 2O21.
NFR General Manager Anshul Gupta awarded Sikdar for displaying courage and alertness on duty during a crucial situation.
On December last year, an unfortunate incident was averted when an old man was trying to board the Guwahati-Ledo Intercity Express at Tinsukia railway station. While trying to board the train, the old man slipped and was dragged with the train to some distance.
Head Constable Sikdar who was on duty at the station reacted promptly and ran to pull him out and saved the passenger.
The entire act was captured on CCTV camera and drew praise from various quarters.
