Silchar, May 18: At a time when people are seemingly crowding the designated online link of Co-Win site for booking slots for getting themselves vaccinated against COVID-19, the alleged non-availability of slots has raised serious concerns among the masses especially those among 18-44 year age group.

Amidst the circumstances, State Health Minister Keshab Mahanta has assured the people that situation with vaccine supply is likely improve in the next one week.

Responding to question on Tuesday on the issue of vaccines in the state, Mahanta, who was at Silchar Medical College and Hospital as a part of his two day visit to Barak Valley to assess COVID-19 situation said, " I have appraised the issue to Union Health Minister Dr Harshvardhan on Monday and urged him to allot more vaccines for Assam. Honourable Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma too is constantly talking with the Centre on the issue of vaccines and we believe the situation and supply of vaccines in the state will streamline in another week's time."
