Vaccination gains momentum in Cachar as positivity rate dips to 0.82 percent till June 21

Adding momentum to the spirited move for vaccination for all, as many as 16,100 persons were jabbed COVID vaccines in Cachar district till 5pm on Wednesday.

According to Suman Choudhury, the District Media Expert, (DME) there has been a surge in the vaccination as 43,876 persons were vaccinated across the district cumulatively on Monday and Tuesday.

The DME informed that from 6.12 per cent positivity rate registered on June 12 out of 3,766 RAT tests (208 positive) and 681 RTPCR tests (64 positive) , the district witnessed 0.82 percent positivity rate on June 21 with 25,434 (177 positive) and 447 RTPCR tests(34 positive) . Further, District Health Department informed that on Tuesday, out of 20,882 RAT tests done, 131 persons were found to be COVID-19 positive while 72 persons were detected to be positive persons through RTPCR tests.
