Guwahati, Aug 11: Though it announced the customary boycott of the Independence Day celebrations, the banned ULFA (I) this time refrained from calling any bandh and said it won't be resorting to armed protests in view of the pandemic and other problems afflicting the State.

However, it appealed the people to protest by hoisting black flags and badges.
